Subject: A July Fourth Thought or Two
Face It, America:
Until WE as a people are willing to go deeper than which of these
bought-and-paid-for hacks in DC is the bad guy/which is the good guy,
nothing is going
to change.
WE are the bad guy.
WE have been systematically and self-righteously fucking the world for the
better part of a century now, but we cannot face that truth, that reality,
anymore than we can face, say, that not a single one of those 58,000 poor
schmucks who died in Vietnam lost his life for anything more than to
maintain the
Military/Industrial Complex. Nor are we willing to face the fact that WE
murdered, in that same bargain, 3 million+ Southeast Asians -- for the same
reason.
On 9/11, it began to come back and bite us on the ass.
What WE witnessed that day, but did not SEE, was the single most dramatic
statement of RAGE in the history of the world. Nobody in power has asked,
in
the wake of that statement, WHY? Oh sure, the asshole in the White House
mouths
the predictable moron-isms about how they hate our freedom, are jealous of
this-or-that, etc., and sadly, and the Moron-Majority buys it.
Fear for our country, our way of life? Hey, WE are still in denial about
the
Crusades, so it is highly unlikely that anything is going to change before
it's too late.
Voting? Politics? Protests? C'mon. Representative Democracy in Washington
vanished a long time ago. The last President to fight the lobbyists and
other
corruptions ordered the troops to begin withdrawing from Vietnam -- and they
murdered him less than a month later in Dallas.
Happy Fourth of July
Tom
