Chicago IL -- On February 16th, The Tremont Hotel will welcome the cast and crew of Chicago's critically acclaimed, theatrical production of POPE JOAN as they begin to arrive in Chicago.
POPE JOAN will be the debut show at the brand new, state of the art Mercury Theater. This award winning musical love story, based on the legend of the rise and fall of the only female pope, won the Joseph Jefferson Awards (the "Jeff") in 1995 for Best New Work, Best Director and Best Production. POPE JOAN opens on February 18, 1996 and has an open ended run.

Originally constructed in 1923, The Tremont was totally renovated and repositioned as one of the nation's first boutique hotels by developer John Coleman in 1978.
