POPE JOAN Project Status
Pope Joan has had a successful opening at the Bailiwick Repertory
in Chicago. A majority of the reviews in are 'raves' and the word of mouth
is superb. The Option on 'World Grand Rights' has been obtained.
The Bailiwick production closed on May 8th. We ran a workshop for three
weekends. The Pope Joan Company will open the new production on February 18,
1996 as the opening show for the Mercury Theatrer. The author,
Christopher Moore, will direct. Prior to that opening a cast recording is
planned.
In the spring the show will be remounted in New York City with a new
director and cast. Chicago production budget: $150M. New York City
Budget: $1MM.
