[Mb-hair] Liberty / My Conviction

Dear Tribes,
The comments of the columnist that reviewed Katie Kasben's HAIR made me realize that The Liberty Tour has somehow got under way spontaneously, starting in Asheville and ricocheting to Cindy Sheehan's caravan and rocking the halls of La MaMa and La Guardia.
It is my conviction that Tribe members old and young should rededicate their energies to a New Left that will oppose war and racism, find new energy sources, work for economic and social justice, save the environment, promote equality and all the rest. If we extend the good will and high energy of the Asheville HAIR and our Reunion-BeIn and apply them with a sense of mission, the spirit of HAIR will rule. If we do it with a song in our hearts, the patience of Super Nanny, the playfulness of Gerry Ragni, the lyricism of Jim and Galt, the wild imagination of Tom O, the grace of Julie A - and the courage, conviction and commitment of Michael Butler - truth and love will win.
All policics is local. If the Tribes (that's us) will begin to broaden our focus beyond HAIR (the show) and support local efforts that extend the values of HAIR (the movement), we can have an impact. Our Reunion reminded me that it's easy to tune out, forget the troubles of the world, retreat to the illusory safety of home, family and television - rather than get out on the streets and in our "leaders" faces.
Congratulations, Katie - go get 'em Ross!
Love and peace to you all.
XO
WMH
