Hey I agree and I disagree.Hair was like nothing ever so I had nothing to compare it
to.But-I was living a life quite like the one in the show.Hair demanded-of me at least-to
be altered by one means or another.I'd hate to be the one to burst anyone's bubble but it
was the only way to be.Like the hippies we played it was the desired state. There is
nothing like lying in a pool of light at the start of Walking In Space..watching the
colors change etc.....I hope someone remembers as I do.So while I agree with the actor in
a role concept,Hair was it's own concept.I had already had many years of training and
many "shows" under my belt and Hair was the closest to an ideal show as ever there has
been.I could be me and play at being many other things:General Grant,A Tourist
Lady, member of a tribe,a Pill Lady even a Young Recruit. It was always bliss to play
inside this play.
There are shows with a cast and a text but Hair was an evening of fun with friends who
spoke to each other and those halcion times. In the European tours we never cut but we
knew what did or did not work and the questionable parts always worked.Maybe I didn't
address any questions so thanks for listening.XOX M
