Program. Seeking an eclectic multiracial cast of dynamic contemporary rock
singer actors with vocal range to cover the score's wide vocal styles.
Essential
that the cast reads young -- very young.

Seeking -- Claude: 18, high baritone, it is Claude's story, a patriot,
quintessential hometown American boy called to the draft, encounters briefly
the
Tribe, part of the 1968 counterculture alive on the streets of New York's
East
Village, much depends on this actor's dramatic and vocal ability to engage
and
move the audience, this is a strong, sympathetic disturbing dramatic role,
needs rock and soul vocal style and dimension; Berger: 18-20, tenor, high
school
drop out, anti-establishment, anarchic rebel, flamboyant, uninhibited,
obstreperous, physically aggressive, chauvinist, lightening rod leader of
the Tribe,
need powerhouse performer; Sheila: 18-20, contralto, upper crust WASP girl,
protest student, serious-minded, strong, grounded, a lustrously beautiful
hippie
Madonna type (not that Madonna); Hud: 18-25, high baritone, hip black
pioneer
militant, satirist with sensitive side; Jeanie: 20-25, spacey, pregnant,
early
Green Peace-nik, colorful personality; Woof: 17-18, tenor, young, sweet,
innocent, in love with Mick Jagger and saving the earth; Dionne: late 20s,
soprano, attractive, strong black feminist; Margret Mead: late 20s, part of
the Tribe
but plays tourist in drag, must have strong falsetto; Chrissy: must read
14-16 years, personification of a flower child, forlorn waif,
semi-streetwise,
crystal pure voice; The Tribe: young, multiracial, strong pop rock
vocalists,
able to play many character roles.

These are the flower children; the shaggy-headed troglodytes that comprise
the close knit would be revolutionaries of the '60s, as yet innocent
idealists
committed to breaking through class and ethnic barriers, freedom of speech,
and
passionately protesting the war. Appointments will be made late December.
Opens: Feb. 18, 2005. Closes: May 7, 2005. Weekends only. Rehearsal: Feb.
1-18,
2005. Two weeks in NYC, one week in Bridgeport.

All positions paid. Nudity involved, no nudity at auditions or rehearsals.
