Take a look at the accompanying picture, and consider the following: Frank Carlucci is the founder of The Carlyle Group. James Baker is the Managing Director of The Carlyle Group. George Schultz is a consultant to The Carlyle Group. And Colin Powell is a former (and probable future) consultant to The Carlyle Group. Apparently, The Carlyle Group does not have enough access to the White House, what with George H.W. Bush a senior consultant and Donald Rumsfeld the college roommate of James Baker. This seems like a thinly disguised way of getting the senior members of The Carlyle Group directly into the White House. Scary.
