In early April, two weeks before the sudden resignation of White House Press
Secretary Scott McClellan, VanityFair.com ran this prescient piece from the
magazine's May issue. The bigger question still lingers: Was McClellan,
renown for his mangled sentences, flat-footed evasions, and genial
befuddlement-and the butt of a thousand blogs-a victim, a pawn, or a P.R.
disaster?
