WSPA network at aid of hurricane struck animals
Dear Supporter
I know that we are all shocked and stunned by the effects of Hurricane Katrina on coastal communities and animals in the USA. The devastation caused by the hurricane has left numerous animals displaced along the coasts of Louisiana and Mississippi. However thanks to WSPA's global network of member societies, aid was immediately available. A co-ordinated effort by local societies such as HSUS (Humane Society of the United States), AHA (American Humane Association), Noah's Wish and the Animal Rescue League of Boston among others means that help has reached both stranded pets and wild animals alike.
Gaining access to the worst hit areas has proven extremely difficult, although member societies and others are now actively rescuing animals in the disaster area. WSPA are urgently identifying relief and recovery projects to support the longer term wellbeing of animals in the region.

WSPA are immensely grateful to all the people around the world who have already pledged their support.
