Apparently, 69% of those responding to a NY1 poll have indicated that they
are in favor of this action.  I had hoped for better from my fellow
citizens, especially given that we were overwhelmingly opposed to the war in
Iraq (over 90%), and a recent Zogby poll indicated that over 50% of NY-ers
do not believe the "official story" regarding the events of 9/11 - i.e.,

1.  This is War.  It is us or the filthy heathen Terrorists.  If the Empire
State Building is attacked tomorrow, you are going to look like an ass.
Perhaps you want to re-think your choice of whose side you are actually on.

2.  While you are outrageously accusing people like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld,
Wolfowitz, Rice, Rove, Etc of having done or doing things that were not in
the best interest of all Americans, and that they might have even had
something to "do with 911", although it is no consolation, it is mildly
comforting that you at least believe in "Polls" taken from a few hundred or
thousand people as being true representation of something like 8 million
people, which surely could never be fixed as easily as American Elections.

3.  Every American must give up something to win this horrible war on
Terrorism.  If it involves giving up various civil rights and liberties and
turning our cities and towns into armed security camps and ignoring the
sacrifices of those gone before us for centuries to secure such precious
rights, we should join arms with our beloved leaders who are fighting this
War for us at The Top rather than trying to embrace some foolish conspiracy
theories of how and why we got to this point and who was involved in getting
us to this point, and becoming one, conquering our now global enemy.  The
alternative is more American deaths on American soil.  Again, one can only
hope you will re-think your priorities.

4.  If you wish to go to jail by not having your bagged searched and
referring to our beloved America as a "Proto-Totalitarian Police State" or
somesuch, this remains a Free Country, and you are surely allowed to do so.
Nobody will notice or care, however, just like they did not care if the
entire 200 people who showed up to protest the Republican National
Convention in NYC were herded into little security camps, and like they
still don't care if 100's of thousands or millions of Iraqis or other men
women and children civilians abroad have to die to win this horrible war on
Terrorism.  Your local, state, and national beloved Leaders already know
about all this, much more than any Average American could ever presume to
know, and are surely taking the appropriate steps and actions to protect
America, her people, and her borders.  Again, if you wish to go to prison
for bucking the system of the wise people we have elected to steer our
beloved country through sunshine and storms, this remains A Free Country,
and it is certainly your privilege to do so.  It is just no longer your
privilege to be able to legally avoid unlawful search and seizure, and one
can only hope that some day you will grow up some and start acting like a
responsible American Adult, rather than some flower child with dreams of
flying saucers, vast conspiracy theories, and fake global warming swimming
around in your drug-crazed head.

1.  If you had any brains at all, you would keep your mouth shut about
things like that which are best forgotten about by all.  (Besides, it was
only about 6 million people, and America's Needless Kills since that Ancient
Time, both domestically and abroad, surpassed 6 million people long long
ago).  It is indeed A Brave New World and A New World Order, and, again, as
our beloved chosen-by-God leaders of this beloved America have already said,
you are either with us or against us.  And although there may currently be
less of us than you, we retain all the guns, badges, authorities, Patriot
Act Powers, and surveillance equipment, in both the public and Private
sector, and Our Numbers are growing daily, try to keep that in mind.  Again,
it appears time for you to re-think your entire motivations as an American,
and renew your Vows Of Patriotism to both the Flag and God.

2.  If you continue to write such things, we can also hear you through the
wall  late at night whispering into your tape recorder, although you are our
brother and we love you and you help us with our dog when we are away
upstate visiting our relatives, under the circumstances, we will have no
choice but to turn you in to the proper authorities.  Our best advice is to
consult a professional psychiatrist, and a priest, at your earliest possible
convenience.
